23 Adopted in 2010

Updated 7/15/2010

All our available greyhounds are kept in foster homes, and we can always use new foster homes.  Many more Greyhounds are waiting in kennels and on farms and we would like to have as many foster dogs as possible.

If you have room in your home for an ex-racing Greyhound, on a temporary basis, and would like to experience the joys of being a foster parent, please  contact us.

Interrogator

Interrogator, or just “Gator”, is a real player and only weighs 65 pounds.  He romps about all the time and is a very happy boy who really loves belly rubs.  Good with cats and small dogs and kids over 10 are just fine with Gator.  He needs a buddy and access to the outside until he becomes very settled.  His early foster experience proved that he cannot be confined so a doggie door or a full time at home person is a must.

Jason

Brindle Male, Birth Date 11-1-2005
Cat friendly: NO

Jason is a BIG Boy.  Just about the tallest Greyhound we have seen.  He is currently a bit thin, but he is eating well and should be up to 80 to 85 pounds before long.  Jason is very sensitive to changing conditions and needs to be transitioned slowly and with great care.  He should go into a calm environment, preferably with a strong canine partner, or a stay at home family.  He may not tolerate being left alone very long.  Jason loves play and will follow his selected person, almost herding you as you walk along.  He doesn’t cuddle but will rest his head in your lap.  He sleeps the night, right beside your bed.

Tippytoes

Brindle Female, Birth Date 9-16-2005
Cat friendly: NO

Tippytoes, a small lady with a tiny face, but a big attitude.  Just short of 60 pounds, she wants to be the boss.  She wants to show you that she doesn’t need you, but once she gets to know you she is a love.  She sleeps through the night, even her first night in her foster home.  Tippy learned the doggie door very quickly and likes to be outside.  Once she settles in, she will be a good addition to a pack.  She does need a canine buddy, or a stay at home human.  She tends to get into things.

Dominant

Brindle Male,
Cat friendly: NO

Dominant, a 75 pound boy who can live on his own.  His first days in foster care have shown that he is self confidant and reasonably calm.  He is eating well, but is learning the stairs, windows and doggie door.  All things that come in time.  He is walking well and ignores the other dogs and cats, unless they approach, so some socialization is needed.  Again time will solve these problems.  If you are looking for your first Greyhound, give this nice boy a look.

Colt

Brindle Male,
Cat friendly: YES

Colt, a 75 pound cat friendly boy who is very meek and easy going.  He seems to be a loner, but needs a large canine friend or people at home almost all the time.  If left alone, he may panic but this could change as he mellows and learns the way of the real world.  Colt wants to be close to his people and has already found the futon in his foster home.  We are working on the doggie door so he learns where to relieve himself.  A very handsome gent, full of love and needs a quiet home.
